Who takes online classes?
Distance learning may be the right choice for you if you are in one of these categories:
- Live a long way from a college campus
- Have transportation challenges
- Have an unpredictable schedule
- Need to take care of your family
- Are active duty military
Because our program is highly flexible, you can complete your degree whenever and wherever you have access to the Internet. You can study early in the morning, late at night and on the weekend. You can connect with your teachers, classmates and prospective employers wherever you are.
Is it difficult?
Taking classes online is no harder and no easier than attending a traditional class. You need to be organized, meet the requirements of the class and submit assignments on time – as you would in any traditional classroom setting. Online learning is just different – it’s neither harder nor easier.
What assistance is available?
Our strong support system for online learners helps students master the technology, participate in class discussions and take advantage of all the benefits of this type of instruction. Available support includes a help desk, tutorials and an extensive Web-based library. We require students to complete an online orientation session that prepares them to use Blackboard, our course delivery system. We provide all the help needed to ensure that each online learning experience is successful.
Do I lose financial aid?
Students enrolled in online programs are eligible for all scholarships available to qualified on-campus students. In addition, our advisors can steer you toward external sources of financial aid, such as loans and grants.
What programs are available at UCC?
We have five fully online degree programs:
