A major concern for students is their ability to pay for college. They wonder whether the expense is worth their time and money. At Broadview University (formerly Utah Career College), we know that the cost of college is an investment that will pay lifelong dividends. College graduates consistently earn more and have more career options than those with a high school diploma.
We’re here to help you investigate loans and grants. These sources of aid, combined with Broadview scholarships, can be part of a financial plan that makes college affordable. Contact us to speak with a financial aid advisor. Call us at 877-609-8889.
Am I eligible for loans and grants?
Whether you are eligible for grants and loans depends on several factors, including your college program, your academic achievements and your finances. Each loan or grant has different eligibility requirements. We can help you identify the funding sources that fit your situation best.
Federal loans and grants
Each of these federal loan programs has different terms. It is important to know whether and how they apply to your situation. A financial aid advisor can help you investigate these sources of federal aid for students.
- Federal Title IV programs
- Federal Pell Grant
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
- Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
Veterans benefits
If you are a veteran, you may qualify for financial aid for college under the GI Bill.
State loans and grants
Each state has different higher education aid programs. Depending on where you live, you may be eligible for state financial aid packages, such as those listed below:
- Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education (UCOPE) Grant

Private loans and grants
There are many private sources of financial aid in the form of loans. Some are state subsidized, while others are bank loans directed toward education.
Affinity group scholarships
There are many grants and scholarships available to students who can demonstrate group affiliations. These groups can be anything from members of a particular church to descendants of immigrants of a particular ethnicity. There are scholarships for vegetarians, for tall people and for people who play the tuba. Your financial aid advisor can show you how to find more about these scholarships and grants.
The American Indian College Fund is a major source of financial aid and awards approximately 5000 grants to tribal students each year.
